REU Meeting - 2026-06-29

This following is a brief summary of our research meeting on 2026-06-29.

Meeting summary

Once again, we spent most of the time going over the exercises assigned at the end of the last meeting. While there were a few that still require additional thoughts to finish off, we gave satisfying solutions to all the rest.

Tasks for next meeting

Our next goal is to take our first steps beyond matrix Lie groups. To that end, in the textbook Lie groups beyond an introduction by Knapp:

• Read Sections 3, 10, 14, and 17 in Chapter 1
• Skim Chapter 3
